We have an exciting job opportunity for a Technical Writer with a key client in the Aerospace sector.  Based in Glasgow, but with much broader aspirations to positively impact the lives of millions, using their knowledge and pioneering technology, our client is in search of a gifted and meticulous Technical Writer, to support their ongoing innovations and projects.

About the Client

Our client is an ambitious start-up operation with expertise in designing, manufacturing, and deploying satellite technology with various clients looking to access Space.  As Technical Writer you will be joining a business with market-leading research and development facilities, and a heavyweight team providing the driving force behind a range of products, which are currently being brought to market.

About the Job

Our client creates many technical documents to support various projects and operations, ranging from rocket engine test procedures to system engineering gate documents.  Your key responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

  • Plan, develop, write and edit technical documentation, including design specifications and test procedures.
  • Produce technical user manuals, data sheets and reports.
  • Coordinate with all engineering teams to gather relevant information for producing documentation.
  • Interpret complex technical product information and re-write this to ensure it is appropriate for all end users.
  • Make a continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively.

About the Person

To succeed in this Technical Writer role, you will likely have a bachelor’s degree in an engineering or aerospace-related field along with previous industry experience in technical writing in an engineering discipline.  You will also have knowledge of system engineering document processes as well as an understanding of basic engineering documentation standards.  As you would expect in a role of this nature, it will be essential that you have meticulous attention to detail both for reviewing and writing skills, with a strong ability to ensure details are accurate.  In addition, it is likely that you will have precious experience gathering information from subject matter experts to develop, organise, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.


The salary for this role will be circa £33k with benefits including extensive learning and development opportunities as well as the opportunity to really make a significant impact with a highly ambitious organisation in this fast-growing sector.
