About the Role

We have an exciting international opportunity for an ambitious Electrical Controls & Instrumentation engineering professional to be appointed as Site Manager of one of the world’s leading total service companies for industrial gas turbines.  If successful, you will be permanently based in Bergen Op Zoom, a small but historic city based in the south of the Netherlands.

As Site Manager, you will lead the team that covers day-to-day and longer-term maintenance issues working with specialist contractors where necessary.  You will have a range of responsibilities as Site Manager including coordinating work activities, advising on maintenance policy, addressing all relevant commercial and operational issues, providing responses to technical enquiries and managing periodic operational reviews with site representatives.

About the Client

If successful in your application, you will be joining a global market leader in maintenance service solutions provided to the Oil, Gas & Power industries.  With over 50 years’ experience and a diverse range of products including Refurbished Gas Turbine Packages, you will be joining a highly capable team with a long history of success and a clear sense of their mission and values, focused on customer satisfaction, quality, and outstanding health & safety record.

About the Person

As the ideal candidate, you will have extensive experience in Process Plant or Power Generation Management as well as being accustomed to working to world-class technical standards and procedures.  You will be expected to have a strong background in Electrical Controls & Instrumentation Engineering (C&I) with extensive experience of large industrial gas turbines. It would be a distinct advantage that you have knowledge of GE Speedtronic systems, specifically in commissioning. Our client is open to consider candidates currently in a Senior Electrical Controls & Instrumentation engineering role looking to move into management.

You will most likely be educated to HNC/Degree level in an electrical controls engineering discipline.  If you don’t hold a degree you will be expected to have an outstanding work experience record with demonstrable achievements throughout.

Given the complex nature of the business, it will be essential that you possess a high level of communication and interpersonal skills as well as a good knowledge of health, safety & environment legislation.  You will also be expected to be IT literate with a good understanding of Integrated Business Systems and the usual software packages such as Word, Excel & Outlook.

This role has on-call commitments and the expectation is that you will live within 1 hours' drive to the site location in Bergen Op Zoom.
