About the Role

We are currently handling an exciting opportunity for a Senior Sous Chef on a ‘Live-In’ basis in newly refurbished accommodation at one of Scotland’s finest 4* Spa hotel resorts.  You will be based in a stunning location and be part of a great team contributing to a resort which already has a great reputation.  Given the nature of this position we would encourage applicants from across the UK because this position will offer a fantastic lifestyle choice especially if you’re an experienced Chef looking to escape the big city.

The resort caters to a broad range of guests from families enjoying time away during school holidays to couples retreats where the first-class spa and leisure facilities providing a perfect weekend getaway.  The dining experience for guest is designed to provide guests with a quality offering at great value in a relaxed contemporary setting.  The restaurants at the resort include the more traditional Bar Brasserie concept, along with a Grill offering the finest Scottish seafood, but as Senior Sous Chef there will be ample opportunity to put your own stamp and creative flair on the cuisine to ensure the customer experience is enjoyable and memorable.

About the Job

As Senior Sous Chef, in this role, you will assist and support the Head Chef in delivering the food and beverage offering for the attraction with a strong focus on utilising appropriate resources to meet financial targets.  You will support the facility in delivering quality food for a variety of events and functions as well as providing a full catering service for rooms and restaurants.  You will also be expected to set and maintain exceptional performance standards through the effective use of resources and ensuring consistency in quality and value.  The guest experience is paramount, and we would expect you to be setting a great example for the junior members of the kitchen to ensure that company standards and statutory obligations are maintained, acting for the Head Chef in his absence.

About the Person

To succeed in this role as Senior Sous Chef, you will most likely have successfully operated within a similar kitchen environment at a similar level and be able to demonstrate consistent career success.  Your attitude and ability to work well under pressure and within a team environment will be very important as will your technical expertise and leadership ability within the kitchen.  You will also most likely have a natural confidence in the kitchen and be able to gain credibility at all levels through your personable nature and ability to stay calm under pressure.

The Reward
