About the Role

We have an exciting job opportunity for an RF Engineer with a key client in the Aerospace sector.  Based in Glasgow, but with much broader aspirations to positively impact the lives of millions, using their knowledge and pioneering technology, our client is in search of a gifted and meticulous RF Engineer, to support their ongoing innovations and projects.

About the Client

Our client is an ambitious start-up operation with expertise in designing, manufacturing and deploying satellite technology with various clients looking to access Space.  As RF Engineer, you will be joining a business with market-leading research and development facilities, and a heavyweight team providing the driving force behind a range of products, which are currently being brought to market.

About the Job

Our client creates many technical documents to support various projects and operations, ranging from rocket engine test procedures to system engineering gate documents.  Your key responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

  • Detailed design and development of ground station and flight system telemetry and tracking equipment.
  • Negotiating and securing key RF licenses and permissions for test and launch sites.
  • Procurement, manufacture, test and integration of vehicle avionics.
  • Use field-specific software such as Altium Designer to design and deliver reliable hardware.
  • Develop RF Microwave circuits and components.
  • Work with manufacturing engineers on the production, testing and integration of vehicle RF avionics.

About the Person

To succeed in this RF Engineer role, you will likely have a bachelor’s degree in an engineering or aerospace-related field along with previous industry experience in RF component design and development.  You will also have previous experience with electronic design tools such as Altium Designer, MATLAB and SPICE as well as a basic understanding of IP-based systems and real-time computer systems.  Further, you will most likely have knowledge and experience of working to industry standards, preferably space standards such as ECSS-E-ST-50C series.

As you would expect in a role of this nature, it will be essential that you have excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and share resources and knowledge with other internal teams.  It would be an advantage if you had previous experience with SCADA environment and Project Management methodologies such as Prince2, though this isn’t considered essential for the role.


The salary for this role will be circa £35k with benefits including extensive learning and development opportunities as well as the opportunity to really make a significant impact with a highly ambitious organisation in this fast-growing sector.
