About the Job

An exciting overseas job opportunity has arisen in the Middle East with one of our key clients in the aviation industry.  We are searching for a skilled Mechanical Technician to service and maintain a range of Ground Equipment for our high-profile customer in the aerospace and defence sector.  Whilst previous experience working with aircraft ground equipment will be a distinct advantage, we will also consider skilled technicians with proven expertise and reliability from within the wider car and transport industries.  We would be particularly interested in talking with you if you are a Mechanical Technician currently employed by a leading airline or car manufacturer.

About the Employer

Our client has a well-established overseas presence where they have developed a reputation for working closely with local partners to support economic development by transferring knowledge, skills and technology to add value and capability.  Our client operates as a prime contractor under a Government to Government arrangement which is in place to provide equipment, support and training to the customer based in the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities

If you are a candidate currently in search of overseas jobs or have previously considered working in the Middle East, then this role will potentially provide a great opportunity to take the leap with a well-established and respected Aerospace & Defence business.  As Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out engineering and maintenance activities, ensuring all electronic data systems are utilised correctly, and assisting the supervisor to keep the shop in good condition with any necessary calibration activities are scheduled and conducted as required.

As part of a highly skilled and capable overseas team, you will work closely with the customer to make sure tool-kits are kept in good working order, and that technical instructions and modifications of all components are maintained within the shop.  As you would expect for a position of this nature, you will need to be able to demonstrate good cultural awareness and diplomacy to ensure that communications are crystal clear to maximise operational readiness and ensure safety critical issues are managed effectively and efficiently.

About the Person

If you are the ideal candidate, you will most likely have extensive experience Mechanical Technician and be able to demonstrate a stable and logical employment pattern throughout your career.  You will most likely be educated to ONC level or a recognised equivalent Mechanical qualification or have experienced supported by formal, recorded workplace training.

Given the challenging nature of this overseas job opportunity, it will be important that you are able to demonstrate initiative to resolve complex technical problems whilst operating in a high-pressure environment.  Whilst it isn’t essential for succeeding in overseas jobs, it would be a distinct advantage if you have previous experience working on Aerospace Ground Equipment and a thorough knowledge of mechanical systems.
