About the Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our high-profile client on a 12-month contract basis (potentially permanent after 12 months). The position is based across 8 heritage sites in the west of Scotland. This opportunity will exhibit each of the stunning sites and you will be lucky enough to experience each in their unique offering as part of your daily job.

About the Employer

Our client owns eight heritage properties across the region of Glasgow. Each welcomes a multitude of visitors and are attractive venues for functions such as school visits, weddings, corporate and private events. Renowned for the first-class services offered to visitors, you as Maintenance Manager will see that all properties and their facilities are well maintained ensuring a safe place for all who enjoy the venue.

About the Job

As the Maintenance Manager you will travel between eight sites, ensuring each is fully compliant with health and safety standards and regulations. You will assess situations and use your sound judgement to determine where contractors are required in order to resolve. As the Maintenance Manager it will be your job to liaise with contractors and manage contracts accordingly.

You will carry out detailed risk assessments at each site. You are responsible for the ongoing risk management and where required, implement safety procedures and policies so that the highest level of safety standards is sustained. Providing ongoing support to all staff will be important in order to achieve this. You will also be responsible for ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and is kept up to date and that staff are competent in maintaining this.

You will use your own expertise in supporting the upkeep of each property and be proactive in your approach by assigning yourself to much of the required ‘handywork’. As you would expect, the role will be varied as it is multi-site and you will be adaptable in terms of the maintenance jobs you are undertaking. The role will require you to be hands-on in your approach to every aspect of your job as Maintenance Manager.

About the Person

Ideally you will have a solid background as a Facilities or Maintenance Manager. Experience of hospitality facilities management - for example in a hotel or leisure venue - would be advantageous. You will be multi-skilled in various trades and are can adapt your skills as required. Passionate about health and safety, you are dedicated to setting and keeping up high standards. You are effective in contract management and are confident in your dealings with external contractors. It is essential that you are competent in risk assessment and your ability to identify and minimise risk to staff and customers alike. Someone who is adaptable, you are equally competent in the repair and maintenance work as you are in the implementation and upkeep of all paperwork relating to health and safety processes across each site.

The Reward
