We are conducting a retained search for a senior HR Manager to be appointed with our high-profile client in the defence sector based in the Middle East.  The primarily purpose of the role will be to act as a partner to the Business Services function by embedding corporate strategy and providing professional HR guidance and support to VP’s and their management teams.

About the Job

Your primary responsibilities as HR Manager will be to contribute to the business strategy by helping business leaders to identify, prioritise and build organisational capabilities, behaviours, structures, and processes.  If successful, you will also contribute to the development of, and then implement business and HR strategies and plans, as a key member of the line of business and HR management teams.  To be successful in this role you don’t need to have previous experience working overseas, though it would be a distinct advantage, but it will be essential that you have operated in a similar level position as an HR Manager or HR Business Partner, and have demonstrated continued progression your career to date.

About the Person

To succeed in this role, you will most certainly need to possess a sense of adventure, and be able to demonstrate a high level of diplomacy and pragmatism.  Whilst it isn’t essential, you will most likely have a degree in an HR or business-related discipline, having already attained membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), or be studying towards it.  Given the varied nature of the role, you will be equally comfortable working operationally and strategically.  This HR Manager role will require that you are up to date in UK employment law, therefore, if you have a background specialising in employee relations, you would be at a distinct advantage.  Above all, you will be expected to demonstrate effective consultation, communication and negotiation skills with a Senior Management Team, often up to VP level, whilst building effective working relationships.
