About the Job

As Head Pastry Chef, you will lead and develop the Pastry team in creating a variety of desserts, pastries, cakes, petit fours and range of bread.  You will also support the catering for the various restaurants in the facility, the busy afternoon tea service in the cafes and, also the Banqueting & Events department which hosts a range of functions.  You’ll not only be creating great pastries for the guests, but also great memories as a place with a great reputation and delicious desserts.  As Head Pastry Chef you will be in charge of a small, but busy, department working with the Executive Head Chef in the main kitchens and be able to demonstrate your ability to work with high volumes and keep calm when the pressure is on.

You will also be expected to set and maintain exceptional performance standards through the effective use of resources and ensuring consistency in quality and value.  The guest experience is paramount, and we would expect you to be setting a great example for the junior members of the kitchen to ensure that company standards and statutory obligations are maintained at all times.

About the Person

To succeed in this role as Head Pastry Chef, you will most likely have successfully operated within a similar kitchen environment at a similar level and be able to demonstrate consistent career success.  Above all, you will be passionate about your craft, a strong focus on teamwork and a willingness to learn and do things differently.
