Location – Paisley

Salary - £24,000 - £27,000

Working days – Monday – Friday

My client based in Paisley is looking for an experienced Buyer to join their very busy and growing company.  This company is very well established with locations worldwide, but they are looking for an experienced Buyer to join their team here in Glasgow. We are looking for someone who is hard working, dedicated, good timekeeping, organised, can work well under pressure and has great attention to detail. Buying experience within an industrial or components company is desirable but not essential.

Job Description

• Be able to negotiate advantageous deals and terms via the “cost down route” to improve company profitability
• Promptly action the company purchasing requirement
• Comply with the company purchasing criteria
• Build relationships with suppliers as a valuable part of the business
• Ensure your designated stock levels are maintained
• Identify slow/obsolete items
• Ensure forward orders are dealt with promptly
• Ensure goods on order with supplier arrive within the agreed timescale
• Provide internal customers with an exceptional level of service
• Excellent communication skills
• Action company purchased invoice queries promptly
• Process all supplier returns  
• Procedures to be followed in accordance with the company manual
• Ensure purchase indicator is produced weekly

Skills and Experience

• Previous Buying experience essential
• Strong negotiation skills
• Buying experience within an industrial or components company is desirable
• Excellent PC skills  
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Willing to work alone and as part of a team assisting colleague when needed
