Bid Manager

£35k to £40k

About the Role

We have an exciting job opportunity for a Bid Manager with a key client in the Aerospace sector.  Based in Edinburgh, but with much broader aspirations to positively impact the lives of millions, using their knowledge and pioneering technology, our client is in search of a capable and successful Bid Manager, to support their ongoing projects, innovations, and business development.

About the Client

Our client is an ambitious start-up operation with expertise in designing, manufacturing, and deploying satellite technology with various clients looking to access Space.  As Bid Manager you will be joining a business with market-leading research and development facilities, and a heavyweight team providing the driving force behind a range of products, which are currently being brought to market.

About the Job

Our client will require you to assist their engineering activities as they seek competitive business opportunities with private and governmental bodies, such as the UK Space Agency and ESA.  If successful, you will be joining the Engineering Technical Support Team, to take ownership of sourcing funding opportunities and writing bids of the highest quality, managing ongoing bids and finding new business opportunities.  In addition, you would have the following responsibilities:

  • Write and present bid-winning grants to accelerate client development opportunities.
  • Manage and organise ongoing bids in varying stages of presentation.
  • Shape and guide the future of the organisation through technology-enabling funding.
  • Proactively look for new relevant solicited and unsolicited bids and grants which align with client funding needs.
  • Assist in technical document writing and journal paper introduction.

About the Person

To succeed in this Bid Manager role, you will likely have extensive experience in leading, managing and writing winning proposals as well as the ability to independently and autonomously problem-solve and write sections of proposals.  To succeed in this role, it is essential that you have previous experience identifying, scoping and securing at least £150k’s worth of funding in a single grant/bid.  As you can imagine in a role of this nature, you will need to have outstanding project management skills, and be skilled in using Project Management software such as ASANA, Jira or similar.  It’s also likely that you will be highly capable gathering information from a broad range of subject matter experts and be able to translate complex ideas into a readily understood way.

The salary for this role will be circa £35k to £40k depending on experience with benefits including extensive learning and development opportunities as well as the opportunity to really make a significant impact with a highly ambitious organisation in this fast-growing sector.
